Preschool Terms and Conditions for Students and Parents
​

1. Enrollment Agreement

By enrolling your child at 'The Learning Cottage Preschool, Daycare, and Activity Center' (hereinafter referred to as "the Preschool"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read these terms carefully before enrolling your child.

2. Enrollment Eligibility

You represent and warrant that you have legal authority to enroll your child in the Preschool. You must provide accurate and complete information during the enrollment process.

3. Tuition and Fees

Tuition fees and any additional charges are outlined in our Fee Schedule. Payment terms and due dates are also specified in the Fee Schedule. Failure to make timely payments may result in the suspension or termination of your child's enrollment.

 

Penal Interest for Late Payments: In the event of late payment, a penal interest charge may be applied in accordance with the prevailing legal rate on the outstanding amount. This interest will accrue from the date of the missed payment until the outstanding balance is settled in full. The preschool reserves the right to adjust the interest rate as necessary.

Cheque/EMI Bounce and Recovery of Bounce Charges:

In the event that a cheque or EMI payment is dishonoured, resulting in a bounce or return of payment, the following actions and charges may apply:

  1. Notification: The preschool will promptly notify the parent or guardian of the dishonoured payment via the contact information provided. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that accurate and up-to-date contact information is maintained.

  2. Resubmission of Payment: The preschool may allow for a one-time resubmission of the payment within a specified period, along with any applicable late fees and bounce charges.

  3. Bounce Charges: A bounce charge, as determined by the preschool, will be levied for each dishonoured payment. This charge is intended to cover the administrative costs and inconvenience caused by the dishonoured payment.

  4. Suspension or Termination: If the dishonoured payment is not rectified within the specified time frame, the preschool reserves the right to suspend or terminate the child's enrollment, in accordance with the terms outlined in the "Tuition and Fees" section.

  5. Legal Action: In cases of repeated dishonoured payments or outstanding balances, the preschool may take legal action to recover the owed fees, including but not limited to engaging debt collection services or pursuing legal remedies through the appropriate authorities.

4. Shipping & Delivery Policy

​

  1. In-Person Collection: For services provided by 'The Learning Cottage Preschool, Daycare, and Activity Center,' including stationery and school kits, all items must be collected in person from our school office during specified hours. Shipment or home delivery services are not available for these items.

  2. Services Delivery Location: All preschool services, including educational programs and activities, will be delivered exclusively from our school location. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their child's safe arrival and departure from the school premises during designated hours.

  3. Exceptions: In the event of specific circumstances that prevent in-person collection or attendance, please contact the school administration to discuss alternative arrangements. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  4. Office Hours: Our school office hours for stationery and school kit collection will be communicated to parents and guardians separately. It is essential to adhere to these hours for the efficient and timely collection of required materials.

  5. Communication: Any updates or changes related to service delivery and collection will be communicated to parents and guardians through official channels, including emails and notices.

  6. No Shipment or Home Delivery: Please note that our school does not offer shipment or home delivery services for any preschool-related items or services. All materials and services must be collected from the school office as per the outlined procedures.

  7. Responsibility: Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that they collect the necessary materials and adhere to the preschool's guidelines for service delivery and in-person attendance.

5. Withdrawal and Refunds

If you wish to withdraw your child from the Preschool, please refer to our Withdrawal Policy, which outlines the notice period and refund policy.

Withdrawal Policy:

This policy outlines the procedures and guidelines for parents who wish to withdraw their child from the preschool.

  • Notice Period: Parents are required to provide a specific notice period (minimum of one term) in advance of withdrawal, as per the policy.

  • Refunds: Kindly be aware that fees, once paid, are strictly non-refundable. This policy is in place due to the school's commitment to covering administrative, stationery, and staffing expenses, as well as reserving a seat for your child.

  • Return of Personal Items: Parents should ensure that all personal belongings of the child are collected upon withdrawal.

  • Clearance Procedures: The preschool may outline any clearance procedures required before withdrawal, such as returning library books or settling outstanding fees.

6. Health and Medical

You are responsible for ensuring that your child is in good health and free from any contagious illnesses when attending the Preschool. Please review our Health and Medical Policy for more information on health requirements and procedures.

  • Health Check: Parents are responsible for ensuring their child's good health and should not send a child who is unwell to school to prevent the spread of contagious illnesses.

  • Immunizations: The preschool may require proof of up-to-date immunizations for enrolled students in accordance with local health regulations.

  • Medication: Procedures for administering medication to students, including authorization forms and communication with parents, are explained.

  • Illness Reporting: Parents must promptly notify the preschool of any illnesses, especially contagious ones, that may affect their child's attendance.

  • Quarantine Procedures: In the event of contagious illnesses or outbreaks, the preschool follows health department guidelines and may implement quarantine measures.

Both parents and students are expected to adhere to our Code of Conduct, which promotes a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. Any breach of this code may result in disciplinary actions as outlined in our Discipline Policy.

We will communicate with parents through various channels, including email, phone, and in-person meetings. It is your responsibility to keep your contact information up-to-date and to check for communications regularly.

9. Privacy

We respect your privacy and handle your child's personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By enrolling your child, you consent to the collection and use of their information as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes and Updates

The Preschool reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions and related policies at any time. We will notify parents of any significant changes.

11. Termination of Enrollment

The Preschool reserves the right to terminate a student's enrollment for reasons including but not limited to non-payment, breach of conduct, or health concerns, as outlined in our Termination Policy.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the internal laws of India and courts in Mumbai, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai Jurisdiction.
